In the 39 Clues the siblings Dan and Amy experience life-threatening adventures as they travel across the globe to find the 39 clues that will lead to a family secret that can save the world.
Each book plays in a different country and part of the world. I have used the series in year 4 (age 13-14), both in Mittelschule and in AHS. For weaker learners a new graphic novel version has just been published. I have not yet tried it, but I am sure this will be a perfect solution for a differentiated approach where the learners can all work on a common goal, even if their reading levels are not the same.
Have a look at the project packages for the learners.
Materials used in Mittelschule: Include some grammar work on the past progressive form and on the past perfect tense. |
Materials used in AHS, less scaffolding. | ||
